Do You Know that You Have a Marketable Skill?
by Teresa King
Did you know that since you have been learning skills on
the net, that you have been learning web skills while getting
your own business set up?
You may not know that those very same skills are marketable or how to market them.
Any of the following can bring you in extra income:
Installing Cgi or PHP scripts.
Making Logos
Designing a Web Site
Making just a starter Template page with a Logo.
Setting up someone's Clickbank for them
Writing a letter
Editing a book
Fulfilling orders for someone, such as burning CD's and
mailing them out.
Editing a web Page
Writing Sales Copy
Ghost Writing an Article
Making Banners
Making eBook Covers
Setting up an autoresponder for someone
Writing an auto responder course for someone
Compiling an eBook
Making Labels for CDs
Submitting articles to Ezine Owners
(I am sure you can think of more)
Once you decide what you can do and would like to do to
make some spare cash, you need to set up a portfolio.
Telling someone, "hey, I can make a logo for you." Is okay
for friends and acquaintances.
However, for a business to a person who is a stranger and a
prospective customer, then you must show work that you have
done. It will make a huge difference in your sales.
So, set up a sales page that has links to show off your
work with an easy order form. Tell your prospective customer
to look at the work you have done. And, give them an estimate
as to when their work will be done.
As you go along, get testimonials that link to your past
customers' actual websites. If you are brand new, it is easy
to get testimonials. Find people who would like your service,
and give them a huge discount for an "honest" testimonial.
Or, do one for free. Testimonials are worth their weight in
gold.
Once you are set up, get your site into the search engine
and start advertising. No money? No problem! You can exchange work for advertising.
Your customer support, customer relationships and how you
conduct your business will be how your internet name grows.
Do a great job and watch that money come in.
